Ten-Year-Old City Law Declared Unconstitutional

Thompson v. City of Escondido Callahan & Blaine's clients sued the City of Escondido pertaining to certain restrictions that it had placed on property owners in the city which had the effect of devaluating certain properties by over $20 million. Over 13,000 homes were involved. In less than one year, Callahan & Blaine filed a complaint, won a judgment by the San Diego Superior Court, and had the same affirmed by the Court of Appeal. This restored over $20 million in lost property values to Callahan & Blaine's clients.
