California sushi restaurant hit by wayward car

Sushi is enormously popular throughout California, viewed by patrons of restaurants that serve it as both tasty and trendy. By indulging in it, they can get a feeling of culinary satisfaction and social fashionableness at the same time. For those who can afford it, this is a win-win situation. The last thing the trendy diners expect is for their sushi restaurant to be the scene of a car accident.

However, that is exactly what happened when a trendy sushi restaurant, Shogun Sushi, received an unexpected visit from a trendy car, a Tesla that plowed into the restaurant. This occurred at approximately 9:30 p.m. on a recent Saturday in Bakersfield, California. Those in the restaurant at the time were shocked.

The woman who was driving the Tesla lost control of the vehicle, sending it directly into the restaurant. At the time, there were about 30 customers inside. The restaurant has been open for about 10 years on California Avenue in Bakersfield.

Needless to say, the owner had never experienced anything like that before. He said that the car wound up halfway inside of the building. A friend of his indicated that the situation could have been even worse, since there were so many people inside.

The owner’s wife was injured when the incident happened. She went to the hospital with a minor leg injury. A two-year-old was also taken to the hospital. The owners aren’t sure when the restaurant can reopen.

This case is still under investigation, though Bakersfield police say they don’t believe drugs or alcohol was involved. Of course, anyone injured in a California car accident will want to explore their legal options after getting medical care. An experienced personal injury attorney can advise them about those options.
