A motorcyclist was killed in a collision with a vehicle in Vista on Oct. 20, the California Highway Patrol reported. The fatal collision happened at the intersection of Huchinson Street and East Vista Way.
Authorities say that a distracted driver hit two high school students on Weedpatch Highway and Eucalyptus Drive in Bakersfield around 6:40 a.m. on Oct. 16. A 16-year-old girl and a 17-year-old girl were both taken to Kern Medical Center. The 17-year-old girl was said to be in critical condition with a lacerated kidney, and one of the girls was in a coma.
On Oct. 4 at around 9:30 p.m., the 42-year-old driver of an SUV lost control of her vehicle, causing her to travel through a Canoga Park doughnut shop. The car came to rest in the street on the 8300 block of De Soto Avenue. The crash killed one man who the shop's owner described as a possible transient who regularly ordered coffee and charged his phone in the shop.
A 27-year-old California man is trying to rebuild his life after an accident last month near a state park in Felton. The motorcyclist suffered a severely damaged leg in the crash.
