On Nov. 14, a California man was killed while attempting to pass a semi-truck on a two-lane highway, authorities reported. A total of five vehicles were involved in the fatal car accident that took place along Highway 79 near Temecula. The 67-year-old San Diego man who was killed was pronounced dead at the scene while the six other people involved suffered non-life-threatening injuries.
On Nov. 13, an 89-year-old women and a 62-year-old man were killed in a traffic accident in Willits, according to authorities. The incident reportedly occurred at 12:40 p.m. on Highway 101 south of Hollands Lane.
The California Highway Patrol reported that a 24-year-old man was killed in a crash on Interstate 80 in Roseville in the morning hours of Nov. 1. Another man sustained injuries in the crash. Both individuals were passengers in a vehicle when the driver reportedly collided with a tree while trying to avoid a car that had stalled in the road. The driver was employed by a ridesharing service.
On Oct. 28, a Ventura County Sheriff's deputy was killed in a hit-and-run crash that was believed to have involved a drunk driver. The accident reportedly occurred in the northbound lanes of 101 Freeway near the Lewis Road on-ramp in Camarillo.
