Three people in California were killed as a result of a car collision that occurred on April 28. The crash happened around 11 p.m. near the intersection of Sylvester Road and Ingromar Grade just outside of Los Banos. According to the California Highway Patrol, the accident was caused by a 30-year-old man in a VW Passat speeding down Ingromar Grade. Police say he was driving too fast to complete a curve and drifted into the opposing lane. His vehicle collided with two occupants in an oncoming Saturn Ion.
Authorities report that a fatal car accident in Santa Cruz County claimed the life of one motorist and left another severely injured. The accident took place during the afternoon hours of March 28 close to the north side entryway of the University of California at Santa Cruz.
Authorities say that a distracted driver hit two high school students on Weedpatch Highway and Eucalyptus Drive in Bakersfield around 6:40 a.m. on Oct. 16. A 16-year-old girl and a 17-year-old girl were both taken to Kern Medical Center. The 17-year-old girl was said to be in critical condition with a lacerated kidney, and one of the girls was in a coma.

An off-duty police officer in California was killed while he was riding his motorcycle on May 1 on Highway 91 in Corona. The motorcycle accident occurred when a sedan clipped the man's Harley-Davidson while changing lanes on that road. The 30-year-old victim had been with the San Bernadino Police Department for eight years, and he became a motorcycle officer just a few months ago.
