Highway accident leaves California man dead

Three vehicles travelling on Highway 88 in Lodi were involved in a fatal crash that ended close to Harney Lane on February 21. The crash resulted in minor injuries to one driver who was treated at the crash site, but another driver who suffered more substantial injuries had to be transported to a hospital for treatment. A third driver was pronounced dead at the scene.

A couple who witnessed the car accident, as well as the events leading up to it, said that the driver of a Plymouth vehicle was maneuvering dangerously along the highway. They reported that the driver was speeding and engaging in reckless behavior, such as driving on the shoulder of the highway, nearly swiping or colliding with other cars and cutting off other drivers. The witnesses contacted 911 to make authorities aware of the reckless driver.

Shortly after dispatchers were informed of the situation, the Plymouth swerved into the northbound lanes, causing a head-on collision with a 1992 Dodge. A 2013 Chevrolet was traveling behind the Dodge at the time of the collision. It struck the driver-side door of the Dodge as it was spinning from the force of the impact with the Plymouth.

Drivers who engage in reckless behavior while behind the wheel put other drivers, passengers and even pedestrians in danger. If an individual has been involved in an automobile crash that was caused by another driver, a consultation with an injury attorney may be beneficial. An injured individual can seek reparation for medical treatment, automobile damages and compensation for time lost at work.
