Geoffrey Hutchinson practices with the Personal Injury, Business Litigation and Insurance Coverage teams. He has extensive experience in high-value cases involving traumatic injury, wrongful death and products liability, particularly automotive and tire defect litigation involving Fortune 500 manufacturers.

Education

  • Mr. Hutchinson earned his Juris Doctor in 2000 from the University of California College of Law, San Francisco (Formerly UC Hastings), where he served as Executive Editor, Hastings Constitutional Law Quarterly, and won at oral arguments at the 1999 Hastings Appellate Advocacy competition. He received a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology where he was on the Dean’s List.

Mr. Hutchinson is admitted to practice before all California State courts, and the United States District Court for the Central, Eastern, Northern and Southern Districts of California

Mr. Hutchinson litigates business disputes concerning insurance coverage and risk transfer mechanisms, including commercial insurance coverage for construction companies involving construction defect and work site injuries. Mr. Hutchinson represents business clients in bad faith actions against insurance carriers, both as to property damage and injury related claims and Coverage B (Personal and Advertising Injury) matters concerning trademark, unfair competition, and data breaches. He also represents clients with respect to Professional Liability and Errors & Omissions coverage.
