Juan J. Cueto

After obtaining his undergraduate degree from the University of Southern California, Mr. Cueto earned his juris doctor degree from Loyola Law School, while simultaneously obtaining a Master of Business Administration degree from Loyola Marymount University.

For the first seven years of his career, Mr. Cueto worked and earned significant results at a prominent defense firm specializing in the representation of physicians, hospitals, and other healthcare providers in complex professional negligence, elder abuse and medical fraud actions.

After joining Callahan & Blaine, Mr. Cueto began to advocate on behalf of the severely injured clients with the unique advantage due to his years of experience in defense.  Mr. Cueto also represents individuals and business entities in cases involving real estate transactions, breach of contract, fiduciary duty, and implied covenant of good faith, and fraud.  Mr. Cueto litigates cases from inception through trial and is directly responsible for all aspects of the prosecution, defense and resolution of his clients’ advanced matters in both state and federal courts.

• A defense verdict following a week-long arbitration hearing wherein Mr. Cueto successfully defended Kaiser Permanente, as well as four prominent Kaiser Permanente physicians, against allegations of professional negligence and intentional misrepresentation involving a complex case regarding the management and treatment of a rare skin condition containing allergic and infectious diseases components.
• A dismissal following a successful statute of limitations argument in a Motion for Summary Judgment in a high-six-figure case involving permanent neurological injuries, wherein Mr. Cueto obtained crucial deposition testimony, which was the driving factor in the total dismissal of the case.
• Forcing the voluntary dismissal of a case on the eve of trial with significant personal exposure involving the alleged preventable death from a rare neurological condition by employing precisely timed discovery and motion practice, as well as successfully taking and defending multiple expert depositions.
