Motorcyclist killed in fatal hit and run in California identified

A motorcyclist who was killed in a California hit-and-run accident was identified. The 53-year-old victim was riding his Harley-Davidson south on the highway when a vehicle crashed into him near the connecting road between the road he was on and another roadway. He was sent over the railing and fell a minimum of 80 feet to the ground. The motorcycle-car accident occurred around 5:50 p.m.

Law enforcement continues its accident investigation to find what they believe is either a green Jeep or SUV. They seek the public’s help in locating it. Initially, it had been described as white. One witness stated that the driver stopped after the crash, got out of the vehicle and then returned to it and drove off. The vehicle that committed the hit and run is believed to have changed lanes without warning and subsequently hit the motorcycle. It is believed to have sustained damage to its right side in the accident.

When there is an accident of any kind, there is the possibility that injuries or fatalities will occur. With a fatality, the family left behind will have to find a way to move forward without their loved one. They often suffer great personal and financial losses after an accident.

Insurance companies might sound compassionate when they discuss the matter and make an offer to compensate those left behind, but it can be difficult for a family to know if they are being offered enough. Given the amount of loss that can come with a hit-and-run accident, it’s imperative that those who were affected know their rights. A Newport Beach car accident attorney experienced with hit-and-run accidents can help the victim’s family understand their rights and options going forward.
