On January 21, 2011, Edward Susolik will be providing an informative presentation at the Bridgeport Continuing Education “California Consumer Class Action” MCLE Seminar. Mr. Susolik will be providing a presentation on the defense perspective and insurance issues arising out of California class actions.

The California Consumer Class Action program will cover the latest developments in the law of California class actions and federal class actions and as well as procedural advice from leaders in the field. This timely conference will include a discussion of the recent Hydrogen Peroxide and In re Tobacco II decisions and is designed to give the practicing attorney and in-house counsel an in-depth knowledge of each step in the process, with an emphasis on the procedural rules, decision making, case strategy and practice.

ON NOVEMBER 17, 2011 – DANIEL J. CALLAHAN & EDWARD SUSOLIK PRESENT LITIGATION MANAGEMENT SEMINAR TO AMERICAN CORPORATE COUNSEL ASSOCIATION

On November 17, 2011, Daniel J. Callahan and Edward Susolik of Callahan & Blaine will present a seminar on litigation management to approximately 50 general counsel members of the American Corporate Counsel Association. The seminar, entitled “Litigation Strategies for the Defense: Secrets and Insights for Corporate Counsel,” will discuss strong and powerful strategies on defending lawsuits, including litigation management, cross-complaints, arbitration, pleadings and discovery, dispositive motions, trial and settlement/mediation. The seminar will also cover such diverse areas such as critical pre-litigation strategies, cost-effective communications with outside counsel, maximizing insurance coverage and general litigation management.

In addition to Messrs. Callahan and Susolik, the panel will also include Judge David Thompson, Assistant Presiding Judge of the Orange County Superior Court, who will provide the judicial perspective on litigation management, as well as Michael Baroni, general counsel for Palace Entertainment, an experienced general counsel, who will provide the “in-house” point of view.

The seminar will be three hours long and 3.0 hours of MCLE credit will be provided. A number of written materials and handouts will be presented to the seminar attendees.

This seminar is part of the ACCA Double Header programs, put on by sponsors of the American Corporate Counsel Association such as Callahan & Blaine. At the conclusion of the MCLE seminar, the attendees will be hosted to a dinner at the Honda Center, to be followed by the exciting Anaheim Ducks v. Los Angeles Kings hockey game in several of the luxurious Honda Center suites. This event will provide attendees a wonderful combination of continuing education, networking with colleagues and the excitement of NHL hockey. This is Callahan & Blaine’s fifth Double Header for the American Corporate Counsel Association, including events with both the Anaheim Ducks and the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim.

The Double Header will take place at the Honda Center in Anaheim, California. The seminar portion of the program will begin at 3:00 p.m. in the corporate meeting rooms of the Honda Center. Dinner will be served at 6:00 p.m. The Ducks v. Kings game will begin at 7:30, at which time the group will move to the designated suites to watch the game. SEPTEMBER 15, 2011 – EDWARD SUSOLIK TO PRESENT LITIGATION SEMINAR AT THE 2011 STATE BAR CONVENTION IN LONG BEACH, CALIFORNIA

On September 15, 2011, Edward Susolik will present his comprehensive and informative seminar entitled “Insurance Law for Litigators” at the 2011 California State Bar Convention in Long Beach, California. This is the 6th year in a row that the State Bar of California has asked Mr. Susolik to present this seminar to its members at its annual meeting.

The seminar provides a comprehensive survey of insurance law issues for litigation attorneys of all types, whether business litigation, personal injury or otherwise. Mr. Susolik will provide the policyholder perspective on the various insurance issues arising out of litigation, including the duty to defend, how plaintiffs should focus on covered damages and collect judgments and other critical and practical applications. The seminar typically draws an extremely large audience, cutting across all aspects of litigation (both plaintiff and defendant) and insurance expertise (from insurance novice to expert).

Mr. Susolik’s co-speaker at the seminar is the esteemed Neil Selman, managing partner of Selman Breitman. Mr. Selman will provide the insurance company perspective on the various matters discussed. Mr. Susolik and Selman, in addition to being good friends, have opposed each other in many cases during the last 15 years and have presented numerous seminars and speeches on insurance law, including presenting this seminar to the State Bar Convention during the last five years.

The seminar will be held at the State Bar Convention in Long Beach, California. The State Bar Convention begins on September 15, 2010.

AUGUST 9, 2011 — EDWARD SUSOLIK TO SPEAK TO ORANGE COUNTY BAR ASSOCIATION CORPORATE COUNSEL SECTION REGARDING INSURANCE COVERAGE FOR INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY LITIGATION

On August 9, 2011, Edward Susolik will make a presentation on “Insurance Issues in Intellectual Property Litigation” to corporate and in-house counsel from Orange County. The presentation is being sponsored by the Corporate Counsel Section of the Orange County Bar Association, and will take place at 12:00PM at the Pacific Club in Newport Beach, California.

Mr. Susolik will discuss and analyze insurance issues that arise in intellectual property litigation. The topics to be covered include:

JUNE 29, 2011 — EDWARD SUSOLIK TO PROVIDE “POLICYHOLDER PERSPECTIVE” AT OCBA ANNUAL INSURANCE LAW UPDATE SEMINAR

On June 29, 2011, Edward Susolik will provide the policyholder perspective for the 15th straight year at the Orange County Bar Association Annual Insurance Law Update seminar. Among the topics that Mr. Susolik will discuss are bad faith, insurance coverage issues, litigation strategies, review of California Supreme Court cases, the duty to defend, Cumis counsel, punitive damages and numerous other insurance topics.

In addition, Mr. Susolik will provide his annual hour-long Survey of 2010/2011 Insurance Cases, which is an analysis and summary of all insurance cases decided by California state and federal courts during the last 12 months. Mr. Susolik has provided this annual survey, which is typically the highlight of the seminar, for the last 15 years. MARCH 23, 2011 – INSURANCE LAW FOR CORPORATE ATTORNEYS: HOW TO MAXIMIZE INSURANCE PROCEEDS

On Wednesday, March 23, 2011, Edward Susolik, the partner in charge of the Insurance Department at Callahan & Blaine, gave a presentation to the Business and Corporate Law Section of the Orange County Bar Association. The title of the seminar was “Insurance Law for Corporate Attorneys: How to Maximize Insurance Proceeds.” Mr. Susolik provided a practical and informative discussion of important principles in insurance law, including recent developments, changes in law, new case law and related analysis. In addition, he gave practical advice on helping clients maximize insurance proceeds, including important risk management issues for the corporate attorney.

JANUARY 25, 2011 – EDWARD SUSOLIK SPOKE AT THE STATE BAR CYBER INSTITUTE “INSURANCE LAW FOR LITIGATORS” MCLE SEMINAR

On January 25, 2011, Edward Susolik provided an informative presentation at The State Bar Cyber Institute “Insurance Law for Litigators” MCLE Seminar.

Mr. Susolik delivered an overview of insurance law and issues to the litigator from both the policyholder/plaintiff perspective as well as the insurance company side. Excellent summary and analysis for both the expert and the newcomer to insurance law.

JANUARY 16, 2011 – DANIEL J. CALLAHAN AND EDWARD SUSOLIK TO SPEAK AT OCBA “LAST DASH” MCLE SEMINAR

On January 16, 2011, Daniel J. Callahan and Edward Susolik will be providing informative MCLE presentations at the annual Orange County Bar Association “Last Dash” MCLE Seminar. Mr. Callahan will be providing a presentation on “Class Action Litigation: Nuts and Bolts and Current Trends.” Mr. Susolik will be providing a presentation on “Mediation and Settlement: How to Settle Your Case and Win.”

Both Mr. Callahan and Mr. Susolik have presented over 100 seminars and speeches each on behalf of the Orange County Bar Association during the last 20 years. For example, Mr. Callahan was Chair of the prestigious OCBA Business Litigation Section. Likewise, Mr. Susolik was Chair for 11 years straight of the OCBA Insurance Law Section. Both Mr. Callahan and Mr. Susolik have volunteered hundreds of hours to the Orange County Bar Association through their educational and other activities on behalf of the OCBA.

On July 29, 2010, Edward Susolik will present the policyholder perspective at the renowned Orange County Bar Association “Insurance Law Update” Seminar. This is Mr. Susolik’s 14th straight year in speaking at this informative three hour seminar. Mr. Susolik’s presentation will include his annual “round up of insurance law cases” where Mr. Susolik will summarize and analyze all of the important insurance bad faith and insurance coverage California cases of the last 12 months.

The speakers will include the Honorable Rex A. Heesman of the Los Angeles Superior Court as the judicial moderator and Stephen Erigero, Esq. of Ropers, Majeski, Kohn & Bentley will provide the insurance company perspective. The seminar moderator will be Jeffrey Kichaven, Esq. The seminar will be held at the Westin Bonaventure in Costa Mesa, California. The seminar hours are from 5:30 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Three hours of MCLE credit are provided.
