Robert Scott Lawrence's law practice encompasses a broad variety of litigation matters, ranging from complex commercial disputes to white collar criminal defense. He has represented clients in federal and state courts in cases involving copyright and trademark infringement, misappropriation of trade secrets, securities violations, bank fraud, tax fraud, toxic torts, unfair competition, and civil and criminal racketeering. He also has extensive experience in commercial mediation and arbitration.

In 2009, Mr. Lawrence was part of a team that successfully defended a high-tech firm in a 4-1/2 month jury trial in which plaintiffs sought $632 million in environmental and personal injury damages. The jury took less than two hours to reach a defense verdict completely exonerating defendants.

In 2005, Mr. Lawrence successfully resolved the liability of several hedge funds and their principal in an action in which the Commodity Futures Trading Commission originally sought some $32 million.

In 2004, Mr. Lawrence successfully defended a real estate developer in 2-month jury trial in which an unlicensed broker sought a $10 million success fee.

In 2002, Mr. Lawrence successfully prosecuted a case involving misappropriation of trade secrets on behalf of a manufacturer of fiber optic telecommunications equipment. The case resolved on the eve of trial with a multi-million dollar payment to Mr. Lawrence's client.

In June 2013, Mr. Lawrence and partner Ed Susolik successfully negotiated a multi-million dollar settlement for their client in a case arising out of a dispute between two long-time business partners in the parking industry. The case involved allegations of fraud, breach of fiduciary duty, self-dealing, misappropriation of corporate opportunities, unfair business practices and unjust enrichment.

In February 2013, Mr. Lawrence and his colleague Christopher Queally obtained summary judgment in the case of Mehta et al. v. Farukhi et al (San Bernardino Superior Court, Case No. 800952), a multi-million dollar fraud action brought by a group of private investors against a lighting manufacture and its officers and directors. After five years of litigation, the defendants were wholly vindicated by the court's dismissal of all causes of action, as to all defendants, the day before trial was scheduled to commence
